Update on where I have been

First off, sorry the blog hasn’t been updated in a while. I haven’t really had time this week with being sick, watching my daughter, and working every night on just learning and learning.

However, I have great news to report: I have finished the Front-end Web Developer track on Team Treehouse! It took longer than I wanted, but for good reasons. Now I am planning on making some demos to test my skills. I think I am making great strides in learning a ton! If you know what all is in the Front-end Web Developer track you know that there is a lot of content there (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Git, Sass being the main things).

But with all of this, I think I have learned a really valuable lesson just from talking to friends and developers: I need to start making. It is really hard for me at times to start working on projects because I just get so consumed in learning different things. But if I want to get where I want to be (and plan to be) then I need to start stretching my wings and seeing how far I can fly. I need to start making things!

So that is what this weekend is all about. I have 1 very defined project, and 1 not-as-defined project I would like to have finished by the end of the weekend.

Let me know if there is something I should consider doing, or advice you would have for me. Or maybe you have some questions about what I am looking to do more specifically. Or maybe you just have questions on how I have gotten where I am today. I know that I still have a ways to go, but comparing where I was 3 months ago… I am really proud of the progress I have made. Until next time, peace out!
